Matt Garrett
Couples & Family Counsellor
Matt Garrett is a couple and family counsellor with a particular focus on affair recovery and long-standing intimacy concerns. He has a strong interest in supporting couples and families where mental health challenges are present, including schizophrenia, depression, and borderline personality challenges, as well as relationships in which one or both partners are neurodiverse (ADHD and ASD).
Matt is deeply committed to working with couples and families who may otherwise have limited access to non-judgmental relationship support, including those in ethically non-monogamous and polyamorous relationships.
As a qualified social worker, Matt brings extensive experience working with individuals, couples, and families within the mental health system and injury management settings. His practice is grounded in trauma-informed principles and a belief that safe, respectful, and compassionate relationships are central to wellbeing. Matt believes that working on relationship concerns—whether individually, as a couple, or within a family or group context—is vital, as our relationships with others are truly the lifeblood of our lives.
